The Punjab Home Department has released a list of 89 banned organizations and unregistered charities operating in the province. According to a spokesperson, any form of assistance to banned organizations is considered a crime under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. The Home Department has advised citizens not to donate to unregistered and banned charities, warning that those who provide aid to state-opposed banned organizations will face legal consequences.
The spokesperson emphasized that registration with the Punjab Charity Commission is mandatory for charities in the province, and citizens should donate to only registered charities.
