In a recent interview with Geo News, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, announced that the committee will hold a meeting in Peshawar to sight the Ramadan moon.
The sighting of the moon and the subsequent announcement will be made during the meeting. Maulana Azad also appealed to the public to make special arrangements to sight the Ramadan moon, emphasizing the importance of the occasion. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Barrister Salman Akram Raja, stated that it is their fundamental right to take guidance from the party’s founding chairman.
The Sindh government has signed an agreement with the US Department of Agriculture to provide free meals and ration to over 200,000 students studying in 1,300 government primary schools in the province.
