Pakistan, February 17, 2026 – In a joint counter-terrorism operation, law enforcement agencies, including the Elite Force and CT Department, have killed three high-profile terrorists in the Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to security sources, the killed terrorists were extremely wanted, and one of them detonated explosives to evade arrest. The deceased included the leader of the extremist group, Fitnah-e-Khawarij, Noor Islam, whose head bounty was set at 50 million rupees.
The operation, code-named “Kabul Gram,” was carried out in the rugged mountainous areas of the region. During the intense firefight, three police personnel were martyred, including Mobin Ahmed, Fida Hussain, and Saifullah Rahim. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, led by Barrister Salman Akram Raja, expressed concern over the lack of access to PTI’s chairman.
In a separate development, the Sindh government has signed an agreement with the US Department of Agriculture to provide free meals and ration to over 200,000 students in 1,300 government primary schools across the province. The agreement is part of the McGovern-Dole Food for Education Program, which will provide $80 million in financial assistance to Pakistan.
In a significant move, the Federal Government has announced that electricity will be provided without interruption during the sehri and iftar times of Ramadan.
