The Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been sent to jail once again due to financial disputes that have been ongoing for years. He was arrested for failing to pay the remaining amount of a loan he had taken to produce a film, “Aatma Patra” in 2010. The film was produced under his direction and was made with a loan of 5 crores (approximately $675,000 USD) from Merli Projects Private Limited in Delhi. The actor had requested an additional week to settle the matter in court, but ultimately surrendered to the authorities and was sent to jail.
According to reports, the total amount owed, including interest and fines, has increased to approximately 9 crores (approximately $1.2 million USD). The actor has been known for his iconic comedic performances in numerous films, but has remained silent on the recent court decision.
According to legal experts, if the court’s decision is not implemented, Yadav could be sentenced to jail. The case has raised concerns about the implementation of court orders in India.
