Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has stated that individuals who block roads in Karachi will not be allowed to exert any kind of pressure on the city. While addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Khalid bin Waleed Flyover in the Malir area of Karachi, the CM said that the people of Sindh will not tolerate any form of intimidation or pressure from anyone.
President Asif Ali Zardari also spoke at the event, saying that he had taken a stance against the government and had stated that he would return to jail in two years. He emphasized that Sindh will remain united and that the city will not be intimidated by individuals who block roads.
The CM further stated that the provincial government will allocate 300 billion rupees for development schemes this year. He urged the local government institutions to strengthen their capabilities and either implement large-scale development projects or directly provide funds to town administrators.
Before the inauguration ceremony, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab briefed the CM on the project, which includes a 682-meter-long, 20.6-meter-wide flyover with four lanes, ending at the National Highway 5 near Mehran Highway.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also spoke at the event, saying that losing in a game is a natural occurrence, but India is politicizing this issue. Mian Zahid Hussain said that the people of Karachi had been fighting for the city’s rights, but the government is afraid to give them the authority to make decisions.
President Asif Ali Zardari also spoke at the event, saying that he had appointed Yousaf Raza Gilani as the Prime Minister and Mushahid Hussain as the Governor, and that he respects the rights of the Saraiki people, as his mother tongue is Saraiki.
