A powerful earthquake struck Sindh and Balochistan on Tuesday, causing widespread damage and panic in the region. According to the seismology center, the earthquake’s epicenter was located in the Washuk district of Balochistan, with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale. The earthquake’s impact was felt in the Khuzdar region, with two tremors reported at 10:52 pm and 11:30 pm.
In addition, the seismology center reported that the earthquake’s impact was also felt in the Shadadkot region of Sindh, with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale. The earthquake’s epicenter was located 126 kilometers northeast of Shadadkot. The earthquake occurred at 12:05 pm, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
This is the second time in the past 24 hours that earthquakes have been reported in the region. On Monday, multiple earthquakes were reported in the Khuzdar region, with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale. The earthquakes were also reported in other parts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Mehar.
In a separate development, the government has been criticized for not providing adequate medical facilities to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who is currently detained in a jail cell. According to sources, Khan’s medical panel has been formed, which includes doctors Amjad and Nadeem Qureshi. The medical panel will conduct an examination of Khan and decide on whether he should be transferred to a hospital.
The opposition alliance, Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Asa Pakistan, has demanded that Khan be immediately transferred to a hospital for medical treatment. PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has defended the government’s decision, saying that the government is committed to providing adequate medical facilities to all prisoners.
In a shocking revelation, former health advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Dr. Zafar Mirza, has revealed that Khan is suffering from an eye-related disease. Senior PPP leader and renowned lawyer, Aitezaz Ahsan, has supported Khan’s medical panel, saying that the decision should be based on medical grounds.
Meanwhile, the government has warned journalists not to speculate about Khan’s medical condition. According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations, Joao Tarique, journalists who try to interview Khan or his family members will be arrested and their cameras will be seized.
In a separate development, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted a weak system of westerly winds in Balochistan on February 16. The department has advised citizens to take necessary precautions.
The Pakistan Bar Council has expressed concern over Khan’s health, saying that he deserves the best medical treatment possible. The council has urged the government to provide Khan with adequate medical facilities.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Islamabad United, has terminated its contract with West Indian cricketer, Shimron Joseph. In a separate development, Pakistan’s former captain, Wasim Akram, has called for Khan to receive the best possible medical treatment.
