Sindh Police has witnessed a series of transfers and postings in recent days, with several high-ranking officials reassigned to different positions. According to a notification issued from Karachi, Dr. Samir Nour has been appointed as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Shahheed Benazirabad. This move comes as part of a broader reshuffle of Sindh Police personnel.
In a separate development, Sajid Sadozai has been appointed as the SSP for Hyderabad, while Amjad Sheikh, the current SSP for Hyderabad, has been transferred to Skarpur. Grade 18 officer Shahzeb has been appointed as the SSP for Hyderabad, while Fida Hussain Shah has been appointed as the SSP for Mirpur Khas. Meanwhile, Muhammad Murad, the SSP for Kishmor, has been given additional charge as the SSP for Skarpur.
The transfers and postings have sparked debate, with several politicians weighing in on the issue. Asad Qaiser, a senior leader of the PTI, said that there should be no compromise on the health of the party’s founder, Imran Khan. “The normalcy of the environment is in the hands of the government,” he stated.
In a separate development, Deputy Director of Immigration Shazad Akbar said that all 20 counters at the Karachi Airport’s immigration department are actively operational. Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Sharjeel Memon urged the federal government to engage in dialogue with the Sindh government, saying that the PTI is already a part of the federal government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has spoken with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Bhatti has embarked on an official visit to Jakarta, Indonesia. Ahmed Mahmood Khan Achakzai, a senior leader of the ANP, said that if progress is made on the health front, the protest will disperse.
In a separate development, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that the government has made several attempts to address the health concerns of the PTI leader in the past, but they have ended in disaster. “The health of the PTI leader is the number one priority on our agenda,” he said, adding that the government will respond to the opposition’s demands after consulting with the Prime Minister.
Senator Talal Chaudhry, a senior leader of the PML-N, said that the party’s priority is the welfare of the nation, adding that the party’s interests come first. The Pakistan Navy’s new ship, PNS Khyber, has completed its maiden voyage and visited the Turkish Navy’s base in Ankara.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Tarique Rahman, the head of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, on their electoral victory, while Federal Minister for Interior Senator Mohsin Nawaz Khan said that the PTI leader will be transferred to a full-fledged prison in Islamabad once he is fully recovered. The government’s spokesman said that the health of the PTI leader is the number one priority on the government’s agenda, and that the government will respond to the opposition’s demands after consulting with the Prime Minister.
