Iran has been warned by US President Donald Trump that it will face “extreme measures” if it fails to meet America’s demands. The measures are believed to include possible military action. This statement comes at a time when the US has increased its military presence in the Middle East, deploying an aircraft carrier and reportedly considering deploying another.
According to Al Jazeera, Trump made the comments in an interview with Israeli TV channel 12. He stated that either an agreement with Iran will be reached or the US will be forced to take drastic action. The US has issued demands to Iran, including the complete elimination of uranium enrichment, the cessation of relations with allied militant groups, and limiting its ballistic missile program.
Iran has been accused of violating these demands, and the US has increased its military presence in the region in response. The US has deployed an aircraft carrier, the USS Abraham Lincoln, and is reportedly considering deploying another.
The US has also instructed its commercial shipping vessels to avoid Iranian territorial waters as much as possible. The increased military presence has raised concerns about a possible US attack on Iran.
