Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken swift notice of Nepal’s introduction of new solar regulations. A high-level meeting was held under the Prime Minister’s chairmanship to discuss Nepal’s new regulations, which included the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahamd Cham, Attaullah Tarar, Ali Pervez Malik, Awais Leghari, Minister of State for Power Balal Kiyani, and Adviser on Privatization Muhammad Ali. On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the Power Division should file an appeal with the Nepal government regarding the protection of solar consumers’ contracts. He directed the Power Division to file an appeal so that the protection of the existing contracts can be ensured, and the burden of 466,000 solar consumers should not fall on 3.76 million National Grid electricity consumers. The Prime Minister directed the Power Division to formulate a comprehensive plan regarding this matter.
