Pakistan’s 9th International Army Team Spirit Competition concluded in Kharian, with Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Defence Forces, in attendance. The competition, lasting 60 hours, was an operational exercise aimed at enhancing professional military skills.
The participating teams exchanged modern ideas and military experiences, while opportunities for mutual learning were provided through best practices. According to the ISPR, the competition, which started regularly from 5th February 2026, was conducted in the semi-mountainous regions of Punjab, where the natural terrain provided a realistic and challenging environment for the exercise.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Field Marshal Asim Munir praised all the participating teams, commending their high professional skills, physical and mental endurance, practical abilities, military prowess, and high spirits. He underscored the importance of multinational military exercises, stating that such activities strengthen joint preparation and are essential for adapting to modern warfare demands.
The ISPR reported that Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Muzaffarabad, paying his respects at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Azad Kashmir and laying a wreath. The competition featured 16 national teams from the Pakistan Army and Navy, as well as observers from the Pakistan Air Force.
As part of his visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir also visited the National Counter Terrorism Centre Pabbi, where he observed various training activities and visited the newly established Tactical Simulator. He commended the efforts of the soldiers and technical teams, emphasizing the significance of simulator-based training in addition to traditional methods.
The Southern Air Command’s Golden Eagle exercise was successfully conducted in the Southern Zone, showcasing the military’s war preparedness. According to the ISPR, the exercise was attended by international observers and defence attaches, who praised the high professional standards and excellent arrangements.
