According to reports, Angelina, the 23-year-old bride, met her alleged lover, Sangeet, at a social event in 2018. At the time, Angelina did not have a mobile phone, which led to a rift in their relationship. However, when Angelina got a mobile phone in 2024, she reconnected with Sangeet, and the two began a romantic affair.
Meanwhile, Angelina’s parents had arranged her marriage to Ashish Kumar, but she was unhappy with the union and continued to communicate with Sangeet. A few days after the marriage, Angelina returned to her parents’ home, where she allegedly hatched a plan with Sangeet to murder her husband.
On January 30, Angelina took her husband, Ashish, to a forest under the guise of going for a picnic. Sangeet and his accomplices were hiding in the bushes, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They attacked Ashish with sticks and later strangled him to death. Angelina then attempted to make it look like a robbery by handing over her jewelry and her husband’s mobile phone to the attackers and pretending to be unconscious.
The attackers buried Ashish’s body in a hole beneath their kitchen and covered it with cement and tiles to conceal the evidence. However, a post-mortem report revealed that Ashish had suffered severe head injuries and had been strangled to death. The police launched a new investigation into the case, and Angelina, Sangeet, and his accomplices were arrested. Angelina has been sent to jail, while the others are being held on police remand.
