The Supreme Court of Pakistan has refused to consider an urgent meeting request made by the PTI chief, citing the need for proper notice.
In a two-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Yaqub A. Khan, the court heard the case, with the PTI leader, Lala Lutfur Rehman, requesting a meeting with the court. However, Chief Justice Yaqub A. Khan stated that the court cannot issue any orders without proper notice.
The PTI chief, Imran Khan, had undergone an eye examination and was diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion. He was later transferred to a hospital for follow-up treatment, which was done with his consent. Imran Khan had emphasized that his cases are still pending in other courts and that the current case has become ineffective.
Chief Justice Yaqub A. Khan clarified that the court cannot issue any orders without proper notice, and that it will be decided whether the case is still effective or not.
The court also dismissed the bail application of Imran Khan, citing that the case has become ineffective. Opposition leader, Mahmud Khan Achakzai, stated that he had heard that the Islamic State had claimed responsibility for the Islamabad blast, which he believes marked the beginning of terrorism in Afghanistan after they sided with international groups against Russia.
