The Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus service, a vital transportation link between the two cities, remains suspended due to the possible protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. According to the metro bus administration, the service has been suspended from the Saddar to the Pakistan Secretariat due to the directives of the district administration.
In a related development, the Green Bus Service in Rawalpindi has also been suspended today. Sources claim that the suspension of the metro bus service is a result of the expected PTI protest, but the situation in Rawalpindi remains normal, with markets open, traffic flowing, and no signs of shutdown or strike.
Senator Pervez Rashid, a senior member of the ruling PML-N party, commented on the situation, saying, “Why are you worried today? This is the outcome of what you have done.”
