The Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Senator Rana Sanaullah, has stated that the past cannot be changed and the issue of the Balochistan crisis will not be resolved until it is acknowledged. Speaking at a conference in Lahore, Senator Rana Sanaullah said that there are currently two crises in Balochistan, and the country is making a mistake by trying to solve both crises in the same way.
Senator Rana Sanaullah highlighted the issue of children and families being targeted with bullets after being identified with their identification cards. “Have you ever heard anyone say that the people of Balochistan are doing this?” he asked. “We say that they are terrorists who do not want peace in Pakistan.” He expressed concern that the human aid being provided is being used to strengthen the Taliban regime.
Senator Rana Sanaullah also mentioned that the people of Balochistan are engaged in a large-scale business in the city of Faisalabad, but no one has ever been accused of treating a Baloch person badly in Punjab. He emphasized that the perpetrators of the murders of innocent people have no humanity and that the Indian media celebrated the Jaffer Express incident.
He further stated that peace can only be achieved by working together and that the priority should be the peace and development of Balochistan. Meanwhile, Senator Pervez Rashid of the ruling PML-N party has said that today’s protests are a result of yesterday’s actions.
