During an interview, Shah requested the journalist to stop the questioning, saying, “I don’t want to discuss this matter. Please, don’t harass me.” When the journalist continued to ask questions, Shah responded, “Are you not understanding that you’re harassing me?”
The incident sparked a strong reaction on social media, with many users criticizing the journalist’s behavior. One user wrote, “In a civilized society, such journalists should be behind bars,” while another user said, “I wanted to slap the journalist after watching the video.”
Shah, a renowned Indian actor, expressed his disappointment in his column, stating that he was highly enthusiastic about participating in the event at Mumbai University’s Urdu department, but was excluded without any explanation or apology on the night of January 31. Later, the university announced that Shah had himself declined to attend the event, which he considered a further humiliating act.
