Bollywood veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee has finally spoken out on the matter of the FIR filed against Neeraj Pandey’s team, saying that it’s not a matter of targeting any community. As you may recall, Netflix India had announced its list of web series and films for 2026, and following the announcement, an FIR was filed against Neeraj Pandey’s team over allegations of hurting sentiments with his upcoming film Ghosht Khora Pandit. Neeraj Pandey was the first to break his silence on the matter, and now it’s Manoj Bajpayee who has joined the chorus.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Manoj Bajpayee wrote, “My intention was not to hurt anyone, I respect the emotions and concerns that people have shared, and I take them seriously. When you’re a part of something that might hurt some people, it forces you to take a step back and listen. I didn’t want to hurt any community’s feelings. As an actor, I enter a character and the story I’m a part of. My goal was to portray a flawed character and raise awareness about it, not to make any statement about any community.”
Manoj Bajpayee, 57, also praised Neeraj Pandey’s working style, saying that it’s always based on caution, and his experience of working with Pandey is that he’s always worked with utmost sincerity and responsibility. He added that pulling down the promotional material is a sign that the matter is being taken seriously, and it reflects that their concerns are being considered.
