Pakistan authorities have foiled a human trafficking ring and arrested multiple suspects, including two women who were traveling to Dubai. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Department took action at Karachi Airport, where the two women were offloaded during immigration clearance. According to FIA officials, one of the women, a resident of Faisalabad, had confessed to being part of an immoral network.
In a separate operation, the FIA Immigration Department apprehended a passenger at Karachi Airport for attempting to travel abroad with fake travel documents. Officials said the suspect had been using social media platforms, Facebook and WhatsApp, to recruit women. The main suspect, who was responsible for arranging shows and travel arrangements, was also arrested during the operation. FIA officials said multiple mobile phones were seized from the suspects, containing WhatsApp chats and voice notes related to human trafficking.
All the suspects have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle. The Ministry of Interior stated that evidence suggests that the attack’s planning, training, and brainwashing were carried out by ISIS in Afghanistan, under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban, who remain a significant threat to regional peace.
The Anti-Electronic Crimes Court has sentenced Imran Mazari and his wife, Hadi Ali Chatha, to 17 years in prison each, and they are currently serving their sentence in Adiala Jail. The United Nations has condemned the terrorist attack on Islamabad’s mosque and has expressed solidarity with the Pakistani government and people against terrorism and extremism. Justice Ali Baqir Najafi said that the Supreme Court makes every effort to expedite the decision on any case filed in the court. The police said that the person arrested has also been found in possession of arms.

The controversy surrounding Bollywood film “Ghosh Yoddha Pandit” has spilled onto the streets, with extremist groups holding protests in various cities.
