The spring festival celebrations, also known as Basant, have officially begun in Lahore, with Punjab’s Information Minister, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, inaugurating the festivities by flying a kite at midnight. However, the celebrations have been marred by a series of tragic incidents, including the loss of life and injuries.
The government has announced that all festivities and events have been canceled in light of the recent terrorist attack in Islamabad, which resulted in the loss of several lives. The attack, which was carried out by a Pakistani national, has left the nation in shock and grief.
