Pakistan Electric Power Company, K Electric, has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mons Alvi. According to sources, Mons Alvi had been facing mental pressure for several months due to harassment allegations made by a former employee. The Board of Directors of K Electric has accepted his resignation. A new CEO will be appointed on February 10, as per the company’s notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
Mons Alvi joined K Electric in 2008 and held various positions, including Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary, and Head of Treasury. In 2018, he was appointed as the CEO of the company. In a separate development, a delegation of the opposition party met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the Chairman of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
The opposition leader, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, said that politicians often sit together and discuss politics. However, this time, the opposition has decided to protest in a democratic and peaceful manner. The Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, stated that the suicide bomber who attacked the Islamabad blast was a Pakistani citizen. Pakistani Ambassador Kamran Akhtar led the event, reaffirming the country’s unwavering support for the people of occupied Kashmir.
