Federal Minister for Interior, Senator Musadiq Malik, paid a visit to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) headquarters on Wednesday. On this occasion, the minister met with the newly appointed Director General (DG) of the FIA, Dr. Usman Anwar. During the meeting, the Minister for Interior expressed hope that under Dr. Usman Anwar’s leadership, the FIA will evolve into an exemplary institution. Sources suggest that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, may be transferred to the federal government. He stated that Dr. Usman Anwar will utilize all his energies and abilities to make the FIA an institution that lives up to public expectations. On this occasion, Dr. Usman Anwar, the new DG FIA, stated that all necessary measures will be taken to improve the FIA. The Minister for Interior also inspected the under-construction committee room at the FIA headquarters and decided to rebuild and renovate the premises in line with modern requirements. The Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway project was declared a vital link for regional connectivity, and both countries agreed to enhance cooperation in energy, defense, tourism, and education.
