The ninth edition of the international Pakistan Army Counter-Terrorism Exercises, titled “Spirit,” was inaugurated at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre in Punjab. According to the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department, the primary goal of the event is to promote military-to-military cooperation among friendly nations. The exercises feature 24 international teams from 19 countries, including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Egypt, and Syria.
In addition to participating countries, observers from Indonesia, Myanmar, and Thailand are also present. The Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force have sent 16 observers to participate in the exercises. According to ISPR, the exercises require high levels of physical fitness, mental toughness, and military skills. The focus of the exercises will be on making timely decisions during complex military operations, promoting team spirit, and fostering unity among participants.
Meanwhile, the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway project has been identified as a key initiative for regional connectivity. Both countries have agreed to enhance cooperation in energy, defense, tourism, and education. In other news, opposition leader Maqsood Gohar expressed concerns over the social media activities of the ruling party and its allies.
In a separate development, a ceremony was held at the Pakistan Embassy in Ankara to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day. The event aimed to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and their just struggle. The two countries have agreed to establish an inter-regional forum.
PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan reiterated his stance that one percent of the party’s founder Imran Khan’s health should not be compromised. Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Muzaffarabad, attended a ceremony at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Jammu and Kashmir, and laid a wreath.
