In a significant development, Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has announced that talks between the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will resume after February 8. During a segment of the Geo News program “Capital Talk,” Dr. Chaudhry revealed that the relationship between the government and PTI is thawing, paving the way for better relations. He stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to meet with PTI leaders in their chamber, with Rana Sanaullah playing a key role in facilitating the dialogue.
Dr. Chaudhry emphasized that the government is ready to discuss all contentious issues with the opposition, including those related to the disputed cases. He added that the government will not shut down schools and businesses, despite PTI’s planned protests, as it is the right of the opposition to hold demonstrations.
However, the Federal Minister also warned that the government will not allow opposition leaders to exploit their right to hold protests and compromise the rights of citizens. He emphasized that the government will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt public life and business.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has visited Muzaffarabad and paid homage to the martyrs at the Jammu and Kashmir Martyrs’ Memorial. The President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister have reaffirmed their full support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
In a separate development, the Balochistan government has announced that 100 suspects have been arrested during an operation in Quetta, and internet services will be restored in the city on February 8. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has inaugurated the annual wildlife show at the Karachi Zoo.
