The International Cricket Council (ICC) has sought a list of journalists from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) seeking accreditation to cover the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. According to sources, the accreditation process for Bangladeshi journalists will be restarted. BCB Chairman Media Committee, AMZAD HUSSAIN, confirmed that accreditation was not granted to Bangladeshi journalists. He stated that between 130-150 Bangladeshi journalists had applied for accreditation to cover matches in India. However, after the ICC refused to grant accreditation to all Bangladeshi journalists, they have now been asked to cover matches in Sri Lanka.
Earlier, the ICC had denied accreditation to all Bangladeshi journalists. Bangladeshi media reported that no Bangladeshi journalist received accreditation in Sri Lanka or India. However, sources indicate that a list of journalists interested in covering the matches in Sri Lanka will be provided to the ICC.
