Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a high-level delegation from Libya at the Prime Minister’s House, where they discussed matters of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations. According to a statement released in this regard, the delegation included Libyan Prime Minister Osama Saeed Hamad, Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar. The meeting also included Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, and the leadership of both countries emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations. The statement added that the meeting discussed cooperation in various sectors, while expressing a joint commitment to promoting peace, stability, and development at the regional and international levels.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting friendly relations with Libya and stressed the importance of continuous dialogue and communication between the two countries. The Libyan leadership expressed interest in expanding the scope of cooperation between the two countries.
The statement added that the meeting agreed to explore opportunities for cooperation in various areas, including close relations and future prospects. They also reaffirmed their commitment to providing uninterrupted support and complete solidarity with Kashmiri brothers.
The meeting also discussed interfaith harmony and religious tolerance. The issue of TTP and the BLA resurgence in Afghanistan after the Taliban’s takeover has been raised.
