In a scathing critique of the Sindh government, MQM-P Chief Dr Khalid Maqbool said that the fires ravaging Karachi are a result of the government’s inaction. Speaking at a gathering in Karachi, Dr. Maqbool stated that the city is a powder keg of hatred and violence, and that the authorities are more interested in collecting taxes than addressing the people’s problems. He alleged that the government is responsible for the suffering of the people, as they are forced to live in inhumane conditions.
Dr. Maqbool also criticized the government for its failure to provide basic amenities to the people of Karachi, stating that the city’s infrastructure is in shambles. He demanded that the government take concrete steps to address the issues facing the city, and that the people of Karachi be given their rights.
In a separate address, MQM-P leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that the people of Karachi should remember that the party is always with them in times of need. He stated that the party will continue to fight for the rights of the people, and that the government should take responsibility for its actions.
Dr. Sattar also criticized the government for its failure to address the issues facing the city, stating that the people of Karachi are suffering due to the government’s incompetence. He demanded that a high-level commission be formed to investigate the causes of the fire and to provide justice to the victims.
The MQM-P has also demanded that the government take concrete steps to address the issues facing the city, including the provision of basic amenities and the protection of the people’s rights. The party has also demanded that the government take action against the corrupt officials who are responsible for the suffering of the people.
In a related development, the IG Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar is expected to be transferred to the federal government, sources said. The government is taking strict measures to prevent smuggling in Balochistan, where oil and other goods are being smuggled.
