Karachi, Sindh: The city’s dire situation has worsened as 50% of the population remains without access to water. This comes as the Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi, Manzoor Ahmed Channa, has announced a 24-hour protest in front of the Sindh Assembly, starting from March. Channa criticized the PPP, PML-N, and MQM for their alleged failure to address the city’s water crisis.
The JI Karachi chief further stated that despite ongoing projects for over a decade, the Green Line project has not been completed. He demanded a transparent investigation into the tragic incident at Gloria Plaza, where people suffered due to the lack of firefighting equipment.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, is expected to be transferred to the federal government. The Sindh government has announced strict measures to curb smuggling in the province, including the smuggling of oil and other essential commodities.
In another development, the National Economic Council (NEC) has approved four major development projects worth over Rs 240 billion. The projects aim to boost economic growth and development in the country.
