Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Senator Talal Chaudhry, has revealed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan is in good health and fine after visiting him in jail. This is not the first time a prisoner has been taken to a hospital, as Chaudhry pointed out during a discussion on Geo News’ program ‘Naya Pakistan’.
Chaudhry stated that Imran Khan had been taken to the nearby hospital in the jail and shown to him. Shafiq Jan, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information, countered that if Imran Khan is healthy, then his personal doctor should be allowed to attend to him. Jan said that Imran Khan is healthy and fine, and it’s not the first time a prisoner has been taken to a hospital. He emphasized that it’s not necessary to release a press release or hold a press conference for every occasion.
The Interior Minister further claimed that Imran Khan’s family is using this meeting for their own political gain. Chaudhry said that they cannot dictate terms and that Imran Khan will meet his colleagues from PTI. Senator Talal Chaudhry also stated that it’s the responsibility of the government to ensure the health and rights of all prisoners, and they do not want any unrest outside Adiala Jail.
The Interior Minister also mentioned that the prisoners, including Imran Khan, have access to a barber, a servant, and equipment for exercise, and that their security is also a concern. The roads leading to Dera Ghazi Khan from Punjab have been closed due to security concerns.
