PTI Chairman’s Eye Surgery: Details Revealed by PIMS Hospital Director
Islamabad’s PIMS Hospital Executive Director Rana Imran Sikander has disclosed the details of PTI Chairman’s treatment. According to his statement, PTI Chairman’s right eye vision was affected due to pressure in the blood vessels of the eye. Following a check-up by a senior medical team, the PTI Chairman was discharged from the hospital. Dr. Imran Sikander informed that the PTI Chairman complained of reduced vision in his right eye a few days ago, prompting a senior doctor to conduct a check-up at Adiala Jail. PTI leader Salman Akram Raja said that the PTI Chairman underwent an eye operation, with his transfer from Adiala Jail to PIMS Hospital on a secret basis on the evening of last week.
According to Dr. Imran Sikander, the senior doctor conducted necessary tests on the PTI Chairman’s right eye, including fundoscopy. The pressure inside the eye was measured, an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) scan of the retina was conducted, and a diagnosis of central retinal vein occlusion was made in the PTI Chairman’s eye. Dr. Imran Sikander stated that the senior doctor recommended further treatment for the PTI Chairman, which led to his transfer to PIMS Hospital. He added that the PTI Chairman was thoroughly informed about his illness and treatment, and a written consent was obtained before the treatment.
Dr. Imran Sikander stated that the PTI Chairman’s treatment was conducted in a sterile environment and under close supervision in the operation theater. The treatment lasted approximately 20 minutes, after which the PTI Chairman recovered well. All routes from Punjab to Balochistan, including Dera Ghazi Khan, have been closed. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they stand with the Pakistani government and people in the war against terrorism.
