Pakistani forces have made significant progress in their fight against terrorism in Peshawar, with a recent operation resulting in the deaths of six terrorist suspects and 10 lightly injured personnel.
At a press conference held in Quetta, attended by Special Secretary to the Chief Minister for Political and Media Affairs Shahid Rind and DIG CTD Azmatullah Guri, the CTD reported that rocket launchers, Kalashnikovs, hand grenades, and explosives were recovered during the operation.
“We had said earlier that things would improve, and they have,” said Azmatullah Guri. “We had given the terrorists the opportunity to surrender, but they refused. We had also sent mediators to negotiate with them, but they didn’t take the offer seriously.”
Guri added that the operation was a success, and the CTD would continue to take action against those involved in the terrorist activity. “We will not spare anyone who is involved in terrorism, regardless of their affiliations or political connections,” he said.
Shahid Rind, speaking on behalf of the Chief Minister, warned that the government would take action against those who provide support to terrorists and vowed to maintain a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
