The Sindh government has denied the security concerns raised by the leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), stating that the government has provided them with adequate security. Senior Minister Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that the leaders of the MQM, Mustafa Kamal and Khawaja Izharul Hassan, are in Islamabad, and the government has provided them with more security than they have requested.
During a media conference in Karachi, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Khawaja Izharul Hassan has 10 security personnel, while Mustafa Kamal has more than that. He asked the MQM leaders to write to the government if they require more security, rather than making unnecessary demands. Memon also criticized the MQM for politicizing the tragedy of the Gul Plaza fire, saying that the people were searching for their loved ones while the MQM leaders were engaged in politics.
