Pakistan’s Parliamentary Committee on Religious Affairs has requested the Minister for Religious Affairs to allocate a Hajj quota for the members of the National Assembly. The committee’s chairman, Shagufta Jumani, chaired the meeting, which saw the participation of Federal Minister Yousaf, who joined online. PPP’s Member National Assembly stated that each member of the parliament should be allocated a Hajj quota for 10 people, and they should submit 10 names on a letterhead to the Ministry. They suggested that each committee member should be allowed to send people for Hajj and not be referred to as a Hajj quota.
During the meeting, the Federal Minister Yousaf stated that they accept the names submitted by the parliamentarians for Hajj, and those submitted by the Minister of State will also be included. The committee’s chairman, Shagufta Jumani, said that now each member of the parliament should be allowed to send 10 names for Hajj.
The Parliamentary Committee on Religious Affairs has also suggested that a parliamentary delegation visit the Roza-e-Rasool in a government-sponsored capacity. During the meeting, Federal Minister Yousaf said that they will accept the names submitted by the parliamentarians for Hajj, and those submitted by the Minister of State will also be included.
