Karachi, Pakistan – In the aftermath of the devastating blast at the Karachi’s Gul Plaza, the city’s police surgeon, Dr. Samia Tariq, has revealed that 71 bodies or human remains have been recovered so far. Dr. Tariq stated that the identification process of 16 individuals has been completed, while the DNA analysis process has been complicated due to the charred remains.
On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner South, Syed Shafiq Ahmed Shah, said that the search operation is in its final stages and will be completed today. As soon as the news of the incident broke, Chief Secretary, Zahid Zaman, along with all the officials, rushed to the scene and supervised the rescue efforts. The Pakistan Navy has successfully carried out a long-distance rescue operation in the Indian Ocean.
In a separate incident, a fraud case involving 20 kilograms of gold worth millions has been registered against a group of traders in Lahore’s Aitchra Market. Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Senator Rana Sanaullah, has suggested that Pakistan should stand with Bangladesh in the ongoing T20 World Cup controversy.
