Iran’s National Security Parliamentary Commission has warned that any attack on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei would be considered a declaration of war against the entire Muslim world. In a statement, the Iranian parliamentary commission further stated that if Ayatollah Khamenei were attacked, Islamic scholars would issue a fatwa calling for jihad. The commission also warned that after the fatwa, the reaction of soldiers of Islam from all over the world would be seen.
This warning comes after former US Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, recently stated that President Donald Trump plans to attempt to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader next week. Shapiro claimed that the presence of the US naval fleet in the Middle East would facilitate possible air and ground attacks. However, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani countered that the reason behind Iran’s economic difficulties lies in the inhumane sanctions imposed by the US and its allies.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had previously held Trump responsible for the unrest and violence in Iran. In response, Trump stated that the ruling regime in Tehran relies on coercion and violence to govern, with no precedent in history.
