A health alert was issued at Karachi Airport after medical staff identified possible symptoms of the Monkeypox virus in a passenger arriving on a foreign airline flight. The incident has caused a wave of concern among health authorities in the city.
According to airport sources, the passenger arrived in Karachi via a foreign airline flight from Saudi Arabia. During routine screening at the airport, the passenger exhibited clear symptoms of the disease.
- Symptoms: The passenger had a high fever and rashes on his body.
- Patient Complaint: The passenger informed the medical staff that he had been suffering from a continuous fever for the past 5 days.
Given these symptoms, the passenger underwent specialized screening at Karachi Airport to test for the Monkeypox virus. Following the initial assessment, the Sindh government promptly transferred the passenger to the Infectious Diseases Hospital, NIPA, in the city to ensure complete diagnosis and isolation.
Authorities are currently awaiting the final test results to confirm whether the passenger is indeed infected with the Monkeypox virus.
