Dallas-based nonprofit U&I is dedicated to assisting at-risk children, adults, and veterans with disabilities in acquiring job skills for employment. U&I CEO Hugh Breland emphasizes the organization’s advocacy for marginalized communities and their commitment to ensuring individuals find not just any job, but the right one.
The upcoming annual fundraising run, “The Dash,” scheduled for March 23 at Klyde Warren Park, will contribute to supporting various programs at U&I, including Life Skills classes for disabled adults and computer classes for disabled veterans.
The organization aims to address the needs of its 200 in-house and 2,000 off-site clients by meeting them where they are. The event is an opportunity to support the underdogs who, as Breland notes, “run faster.”
