HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Monday will start cool with morning temperatures in the 40s. Expect partly cloudy or partly sunny skies with temperatures mostly in the lower 70s by afternoon. A cold front will bring showers and maybe a few thunderstorms Tuesday morning. Another cold front will increase rain chances later Wednesday or Wednesday night.
Cooler weather will return later in the week.

Monday afternoon could bring 70-degree weather back to most of the Southeast Texas. Tuesday will be warmer with highs in the 70s. Wednesday could be just as warm or warmer. Some places could be around 75 to 80 in the afternoon.
What’s the outlook for Valentine’s Day?
A storm system will bring showers and thunderstorms Tuesday morning, but should end by around noon. Clouds could break up later in the afternoon. Early evening Valentine’s dinner or date plans will be dry and mostly in the 60s around 7:00 or 8:00 p.m.

The threat for severe thunderstorms looks to be very low with cold fronts Tuesday morning and late Wednesday night. The risk for severe storms may pass just north of the area Wednesday night.
