HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Get ready for two seasons in one day!
You’ll want to prepare for the temperatures to fall into the 50s through the day Wednesday as a slow-moving cold front pushes through your neighborhood. The timing of the temp drop will vary greatly due to the slow forward motion of the front, but it should generally push through Houston between noon and 3 p.m. By the evening, temperatures will be in the upper 40s and low 50s all across southeast Texas.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely along and behind the front, so you might need the umbrella in addition to your jacket. There is a low chance for severe weather along the front wherever it’s located in the afternoon. That’s because temperatures will warm to near 80-degrees for any places still not in the cold air by then. The severe threat will increase east of Houston into Louisiana.
Take the jacket tomorrow even if it is warm in the morning. A cold front will move east across the area and should be passing through Harris County by early afternoon. Temperatures could drop from around 70 to the lower 50s within an hour. #txwx #houwx pic.twitter.com/1kynUj8pqB

Are more freezing temperatures possible?
Another cold front will move through Southeast Texas early Friday. Expect plenty of sunshine Friday, but a cold Friday night. This one will push temperatures into light freeze territory for Saturday morning. We could also be near freezing in spots or see frost on Sunday morning. Longer range computer models also show another strong cold front arriving late next week, so don’t count out the chilly weather yet!
What can we expect for the weekend?
After the cold start to Saturday with temperatures near freezing, temperatures will warm to around 55 to 60 under a sunny sky. Sunday morning morning will again be in the 30s with frost possible. We could see high clouds increase Sunday, but we’ll see enough sunshine to warm afternoon temperatures into the 60s.
