As North Texas heads into its third day of winter weather, chances of freezing rain Tuesday night into Wednesday persist as do temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s. The conditions have made travel difficult and closed school districts, businesses and government buildings.
Here’s a list of some establishments that are open today, although North Texas authorities urge residents to stay off the roads as much as possible.

Restaurants and coffee
- La Bodega Rotisserie + Goods at 11 a.m. The restaurant said on its Instagram story, “We’re going in a little late so birds won’t be ready until 12 p.m.”
- Greenville Avenue Pizza Company at 1 p.m.
- Shugs Bagels will be open until 3 p.m. The group said on its Instagram story Door Dash delivery from the shop is suspended for the day. “But for those brave enough to make the drive, WE ARE OPEN.”
- Tribal All Day Cafe. “Hours today are subject to change and we will keep you updated,” the group wrote on Facebook.
- Halcyon on Lower Greenville closed at 2 p.m. Tuesday, and plans to operate Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Ascension Coffee Dallas locations are open with limited hours. Call to confirm. Fort Worth locations are closed.
- Oddfellows in the Bishop Arts District at 8 a.m.
- Taco y Vino in Bishop Arts District from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The eatery is also having a happy hour special all day in honor of the snow day.
- Everyday Works Coffee in Oak Cliff is open for business Tuesday.
- Toulouse Cafe & Bar in Dallas is open as of noon Tuesday, but its Plano location is closed for the day.
- Katy Trail Ice House
- New York Sub in University Park
Grocery stores
- Bonton Farms farmer’s market is open, but the restaurant is closed.
- All Kroger locations are open for regular business hours today, a company regional spokesperson confirmed. However, delivery will be limited through Wednesday due to the weather. “We appreciate your patience as we work to fulfill orders and keep our employees safe,” the chain wrote on its website.
- HEB stores will close Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and reopen Wednesday at 8 a.m., a spokesperson confirmed.
- Central Market locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano and Southlake will close at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
- All nine Market Street locations in North Texas will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and will open at 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to a press release.
Entertainment
- While the carnival midway is closed Tuesday at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, all other events on the schedule are a go.
- The Children’s Aquarium Dallas in Fair Park is open for regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Libraries and government buildings
- Dallas public libraries will no longer be open Tuesday or Wednesday, a city of Dallas spokesperson confirmed Tuesday afternoon. The J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in downtown Dallas will serve as a temporary warming center for unhoused residents.
- Fort Worth public library locations are closed Tuesday.
- Tarrant County departments are working remotely today, and the County reminded residents Tuesday is the deadline to pay property taxes without penalty and interest. Taxes can be paid online.
