HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Showers are possible Saturday night. We will see increasing chances for rain and storms Sunday as a cold front moves into Southeast Texas. There is a small threat for thunderstorms to have strong wind gusts and heavy rain. Much cooler weather will return by Monday and Tuesday with more showers.
How wet will Sunday be?
Rain chances increase to 80 percent with some heavier showers and storms in some areas during the late morning and afternoon. Some areas may see more than two inches of rain in spots.
Any chance for severe weather or flooding?
The chance for a severe storm on Sunday is low, but if it does happen the main threat will be damaging winds. There will be a slight chance for street flooding with a few storms. The threat mainly exists from Houston to the east and south.
Is more cold weather coming with a cold front Sunday evening?
Monday’s temperatures may stay in the 50s most of the day in some areas. Clouds and some showers will help keep temperatures down. Tuesday may be stuck in the 40s and low 50s most of the daytime with more clouds and showers. Sunshine may not break through the clouds until Friday.
