HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Monday starts off warm and humid with areas of dense fog possible especially along the coast. A Dense Fog Advisory in effect until noon Monday for Galveston and Matagorda counties.
Shower and storm chances increase Monday morning and become higher in the afternoon due to a storm system moving across the southern Plains and Texas. Severe thunderstorms are possible. Stay tuned to ABC 13 Monday if warnings are issued.
When could rain and storms return?
We may see a shower in spots Monday morning. However, heavier shower and storms will form during the afternoon and evening.
Could there be any severe weather or flash flooding in Monday’s storms?
Showers and thunderstorms could start to form Monday morning and increase in coverage during the afternoon. Some storms may also produce locally heavy rainfall that may cause flash flooding.
Will storms last beyond Monday?
A cold front will move through Southeast Texas Tuesday morning and may trigger a few showers or weaker storms through the morning hours Tuesday. Dry weather is likely to return by afternoon.
