HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A FREEZE WARNING is in effect for Washington, Grimes, Walker, Brazos, Polk and Trinity counties from 8 a.m. Sunday. If you live in this area, you will want to cover your cold sensitive plants and bring your pets indoors.
The rest of us are expected to stay above that freezing mark but it will still be very cold with lows in the mid to upper 30s. Under mostly sunny skies, we should see temperatures climb into the upper 50s by Sunday afternoon.
Will the cold air stick around?
Yes, for all of next week! Another cold front will blow in on Monday, and this one will likely bring another round of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe. Behind this front, even colder air will pour in, keeping highs in the 50s and pushing lows into the 30s by the end of the week. It’s even possible for the freeze line to make an early appearance in Southeast Texas.
