An Amazon warehouse in Amarillo that was launched earlier this year is temporarily closed after bed bugs were found inside the facility, KFDA reported Tuesday.
The 1 million-square-foot center opened earlier this year to handle bulky or larger items such as furniture, outdoor equipment and rugs. When the center was announced, Amazon said it would create more than 500 new jobs in the area. Amazon has multiple fulfillment center warehouses in North Texas, including in Grapevine and Forney.
A spokesman from the company told the news station all employees will be paid while the facility is closed and that orders are being handled by other sites.
All inventory will be recycled or returned to suppliers after inspection, according to the media report.
