A 19-year-old woman was arrested Saturday in the fatal shooting of a Louisiana man two days earlier in Mesquite, police said.
Michelle Myahana Johnson faces a murder charge in the slaying of Jabari Walters, 33, of New Orleans. It is unclear whether she has an attorney.
Officers responded about 10:35 p.m. Thursday to a shooting call in the 3800 block of Anthony Drive, near Town East Boulevard and U.S. Highway 80, and found Walters lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds to his torso. A witness told police they saw a vehicle drive off after they heard gunshots.
Police said paramedics took Walters to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police did not say how they connected Johnson to the shooting and did not provide additional details about the case.
Johnson was being held in the Mesquite jail Saturday, and her bail had not been set.
