KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted strong winds in Karachi on Saturday (today), while the weather is expected to remain dry and cool over the next 24 hours.
According to the PMD, winds blowing from the northeast were recorded at a speed of 15 kilometres per hour.
The Met Office noted that the minimum temperature in the port city dropped to 14.5°C, with humidity levels recorded at 54%.
A day earlier, the PMD forecast high winds in the northern regions of the country, accompanied by rain and snowfall in mountainous areas from January 18 to 20.
Karachi has been experiencing intermittent spells of strong winds for about a week now.
Meanwhile, rain is predicted in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Chagai, Noshki, Kalat, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Harnai, and Zhob during the next 24 hours.
Additionally, rain and snowfall are expected in Musakhel, Kharan, Kech, Panjgur, and Gwadar during this period.
