“Government Initiatives Boost IT Sector”

Pakistan is making significant strides in advancing its IT sector through a series of government-led initiatives facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). These efforts aim to enhance technical expertise among youth and meet the evolving demands of the industry.
As part of this initiative, the government has launched a new ICT training portal to equip graduates with the necessary skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. The portal focuses on high-demand areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, offering practical experience to participants.
In a major development, the Ministry of IT and Huawei have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration. This agreement will provide graduates with hands-on training in advanced technologies, enhancing their job prospects. Huawei has also pledged to support the establishment of modern training programs and centers, with potential expansions to Karachi and beyond.
The SIFC-backed training programs also include a three-year internship initiative designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. Through this program, young professionals can work directly with IT companies, gaining exposure to real-world challenges and solutions.
Additionally, Huawei has partnered with COMSATS University Islamabad to enhance technical training opportunities, marking another step toward building a sustainable IT talent pipeline in Pakistan.
These collaborative efforts are expected to contribute significantly to Pakistan’s economic growth and technological advancement. Expanding the scope of training programs across the country remains a priority to ensure a broader audience can benefit from these opportunities.
