PTI Founder’s Lawyer Confirms Court Staff Informed Him of the Highly-Anticipated Announcement
Rawalpindi: The verdict in the £190 million case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi is set to be announced today, as confirmed by PTI lawyer Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry.
The accountability court judge, Nasir Javed Rana, will announce the reserved judgment at 11 AM at a makeshift court in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi.
The verdict was initially scheduled for January 6 but was postponed due to the judge being on leave. In the case, Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and others are accused by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of causing a £190 million loss to the national exchequer via a settlement with the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA).
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also expressed hope that justice would prevail, calling the events during the PTI government “unprecedented.”
