Speeding trailer with brake failure causes a tragic accident on Indus Highway.
At least 12 people lost their lives, and 25 others were injured in a horrific road accident on Saturday at Ambeeri Chowk in Karak.
Deputy Commissioner Karak Shakeel Jan Marwat confirmed the incident, stating the accident occurred due to the trailer’s brake failure. Police reported that the speeding trailer truck rammed into a passenger coach and other vehicles on Indus Highway.
KP Governor Takes Notice
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi took notice of the accident and sought a detailed report. He directed health department personnel to provide every possible aid to the injured and instructed Hilal-e-Ahmar teams to accelerate relief operations at Ambeeri Chowk.
The governor also urged Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers to assist in relief efforts and donate blood for the injured.
Condolences from Leaders
PPP Senator Sherry Rehman expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and urged the local government and district administration to ensure the best possible facilities for the victims.
Similar Incident in Karachi
In another incident, two people were killed and one injured when a heavy water tanker ran over motorbikes on Shaheed-e-Millat Road in Karachi on Friday.
Police stated that the accident occurred when a car hit the motorcyclists, and a water tanker following closely behind collided with the motorbikes.
