PTI to Consult Jailed Leader Imran Khan Before Presenting Demands

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq expressed satisfaction over ongoing talks between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government, stating that the PTI would present its charter of demands in the next session after consulting its incarcerated founder, Imran Khan.
During the second round of discussions, PTI reiterated its demand for the release of political prisoners, including Khan, and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate key incidents.
Joint Declaration
Government’s lead negotiator, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, announced that the two sides had agreed to continue the dialogue. PTI negotiators highlighted the need for Imran Khan’s input to finalize their demands.
The government assured PTI that their demands would be evaluated if presented in a written form. It was also agreed that the PTI negotiation committee could meet Khan to further the process.
First Round
Last month’s inaugural session saw both parties agreeing to cooperate against terrorism and recognizing the sacrifices of martyrs. Both sides emphasized resolving issues within constitutional boundaries.
