Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has expressed support for negotiations, emphasizing that all power centres in the country, including the military, bureaucracy, politicians, judiciary, and media, should come together to resolve issues.
However, the PML-N leader warned the government’s negotiating team not to let PTI founder Imran Khan “take advantage” of them. He criticized Khan’s past actions, stating that for the past 10-15 years, PML-N had always initiated talks but never received a positive response.
Asif questioned why Khan was now ready for talks, suggesting that the former prime minister had used people for his personal gains. He cautioned against falling into Khan’s manipulative tactics.
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, stressed the importance of all political leaders coming together to resolve the country’s crises. He highlighted that before November 26, PTI had refused negotiations, but now seemed open to dialogue.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that despite any bitterness, negotiations must proceed, and urged the prime minister to form a committee for facilitating talks between the government and opposition.
PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique expressed concern over the country’s internal conflict and blamed PTI founder, former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, and former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar for the ongoing problems. He expressed hope that the government-opposition talks would lead to a resolution.
