Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led government for the country’s “slow internet speeds,” questioning why only fish seemed to cut Pakistan’s undersea fiber-optic cables. He argued that the PML-N’s politics are centered around motorways, while the real infrastructure for today’s generation is digitalization, internet, and its speed.
Bilawal emphasized that instead of reducing internet speed, the government should have worked to increase it. He raised concerns about the government’s retraction of their initial claim that the internet cable had been cut, asking why the public needs VPNs when they don’t even have reliable, high-speed internet.
Additionally, Bilawal addressed the federal government’s controversial plans to build new canals on the Indus River, asserting that such projects could violate the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) agreement and are unilateral in nature.
He further criticized the government for not treating smaller provinces properly, asserting that the PPP had always fought for equitable solutions and would continue to push for relief despite limited resources.
Bilawal also expressed concerns over U.S. politicians’ pro-Imran Khan statements, calling them “political statements” and emphasizing that those playing politics with conspiracy theories are dangerous for Pakistan and its people.
